Al Smith slammed a homerun at Dimaggio Field where the San Francisco Golden
Seals beat the Oakland Oaks in 10 innings by the score of 5 to 4.
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  San Francisco won
the game in the 10th inning.  John Roseboro drew a walk.  Bobby Richardson
came to the plate and stroked a single.  Mickey Mantle then doubled resulting
in a mighty exciting win for San Francisco and the 37,999 home town fans in
attendance.  San Francisco out-hit Oakland for the game, 10 hits to 7.  
Hal Woodeshick(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. The loss was charged
to Mudcat Grant(0-1) in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.
