Chris Short held Sacramento scoreless on just 3 hits as the Chicago River Dogs
defeated the Sacramento River Cats by a score of 5 to 0 at Raley Field.
Short(1-0) simply dominated Sacramento. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits
and 1 walk in 9 innings. Short struckout 11 Sacramento batters. Chicago
totaled 11 on the afternoon.
Turk Farrell(0-1) was hit with the loss. He pitched 4 innings giving up 5
hits and 2 walks. Short was humble when questioned about his performance,
'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had
great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an
extremely well called game!'
