Felix Mantilla went deep and had 4 RBI at D.C. Stadium where the Chicago River
Dogs beat the Washington Senators by the score of 9 to 5.
Mantilla provided the offensive punch. He doubled with all three runners
coming home in the 5th inning and ripping a solo home run (his 3rd of the
season) in the 7th inning. Chicago kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
Eddie Fisher(1-0) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Harvey
Haddix recorded his 2nd save. Claude Raymond(1-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 4 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
