WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: Mickey Mantle robbed Willie Mays of a Homerun!
Curt Simmons(1-0) and Juan Marichal(0-1) locked horns in a pitcher's duel with
Simmons and the Sacramento River Cats coming out on top of the San Francisco
Golden Seals 1 to 0.
San Francisco surrendered what proved to be the only run of the contest when
Sacramento scored in the 2nd inning. That early scoring held up. San Francisco
threatened in the 9th but Sacramento was able to put down the rally.
Bobby Shantz recorded the save, his 1st.
