In a tight game it was the Sacramento River Cats 5, the Los Angeles Angels 3
at Raley Field.
In the bottom of the 2nd inning Sacramento scored 2 runs when they had 3 base
hits.  The key at-bat was by Jim Bunning who made the crowd happy when he
lined a single scoring two baserunners.  Los Angeles had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.  
Bunning(1-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Bunning got
help from Bob Lee who earned his 1st save.  Ken Johnson(0-1) was the loser.
He served up 3 homeruns in his 6 innings.
