Mike McCormick took a no-hitter into the 7th inning at Fenway Park where the Boston Beaneaters beat the Cleveland Indians 2 to 1.
McCormick(1-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the Cleveland hitters. He surrendered only 3 hits and no walks in 9 innings. The left-handed McCormick lost his chance for a no-hitter when Lou Brock singled with two outs in the 7th inning. The game was a scoreless duel until the 8th inning.
