In a close game the San Francisco Golden Seals got by the Los Angeles Angels
by the score of 4 to 2.
San Francisco erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 4 base hits.  Tom Tresh opened up the inning
nicely when he slapped a single.  After an out was recorded, Pedro Gonzalez
came up and he banged out a single.  Mickey Mantle then laced a one-base hit
knocking in a run.  Bob Johnson was up next and he stroked a base-hit scoring
the final run of the inning.  San Francisco had a total of 10 hits for the game.  
Cisco Carlos(1-0) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Hoyt
Wilhelm earned the save, his 2nd.  Jim Merritt(0-1) was hit with the loss.
