Jim Perry(1-0) and Bob Gibson(1-1) treated the Boston fans to a fine pitching duel at Fenway Park. The Boston Beaneaters eventually emerged as victors over the Seattle Red Barons by the score of 3 to 0.
Perry gave a fine effort for Boston. He went 7 and 1/3 innings surrendering 7 hits and no walks. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.
Joe Hoerner earned the save, his 1st.
