Mickey Lolich took a no-hitter into the 7th inning at Shea Stadium as the
Manchester Minutemen beat the Seattle Red Barons 4 to 2.
Lolich(1-0) had a strong outing.  He didn't give up much, just 5 hits and no
walks in 9 innings.  The left-handed Lolich lost his no-hit bid when Boog
Powell singled with nobody out in the 7th inning.  Manchester and Seattle
each finished the afternoon with 5 hits.  
Sam McDowell(0-1) took the loss. He surrendered just 4 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings.
