In a thriller the Albuquerque Dukes staged a dramatic comeback over the Los Angeles Angels winning by a score of 3 to 2 at Chase Field.
Albuquerque had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 2 hits. Jim Northrup led off and started the rally when he tripled. Johnny Bench came next and he doubled. Norm Miller then was walked intentionally. Ted Sizemore followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Bubba Morton came to the plate and drew a walk. Albuquerque had only 5 hits for the afternoon.
Cecil Upshaw(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Blue Moon Odom(0-1) absorbed the loss. 'What a win!', Upshaw said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in your mind at the end of a season.'
