John Callison cracked a homer and had 2 RBI at Illini Reservation as the San
Francisco Golden Seals beat the Springfield Bulls by the count of 5 to 4.
San Francisco had 4 runs cross the plate in the 4th inning when they had 3
base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Dick Dietz who deflated the
spirits of the home town crowd when he cracked a two-run shot. San Francisco
had 13 hits for the game and Springfield had 7.
Tom Hall(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings. Hall got
help from Jack Aker who earned his 1st save. Fritz Peterson(0-1) was hit
with the loss.
