The Springfield Bulls tallied 6 runs in the 8th inning and nipped the Chicago
River Dogs 8 to 7 at Wrigley Field in a hard fought contest.
Springfield scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 8th inning as they
scored 6 runs on 5 base hits. The key at-bat was by Amos Otis who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he doubled which was good for two runs.
Springfield had a total of 14 hits for the game.
The victory was credited to Tom Dukes(1-0) who went 2/3 of an inning, allowing
1 run. Pete Richert earned his 3rd save. Bob Humphreys(0-1) took the loss in relief.
