In a two run game the Cleveland Indians got by the Springfield Bulls by the

Cleveland took the lead for keeps in the 5th inning when they came up with 2
runs on 1 hit. Springfield made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable
to push the needed runs across.
The winning pitcher was Ron Bryant(1-1) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Bryant was helped out by Chris Zachary who recorded his 1st save.
Bill Gogolewski(1-1) was charged with the loss. He gave up 5 hits and 6
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Craig Cunningham said after the game. 'Bryant did not have
command of his pitches most of the night, but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
