Joe Coleman pitched a complete game shutout as the Sacramento River Cats beat
the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 1 to 0.
Coleman(2-0) was simply too much for the Pittsburgh batters. He was stingy on
the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA
from 3.38 to 2.16. Sacramento managed only 6 hits on the night.
Tom Seaver(1-1) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 8 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk.
