Catfish Hunter hurled a 4 hitter as the Cleveland Indians bested the
Pittsburgh Pirates in 10 innings 2 to 1 at Municipal Stadium.
The score was tied at 1 after nine.  Finally, Cleveland prevailed in the 10th
inning.  Joe Morgan drew a walk.  Ken Henderson stepped up to the plate and
he delivered a single.  Henderson took second on the throw.  After another
out, Rick Miller was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  George Scott
stepped in and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Darrell Porter
came up to bat and ripped a single giving Cleveland the win much to the
delight of the home town crowd.  Cleveland rapped out 7 hits for the night.
The victory went to Hunter(1-0) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The
losing pitcher was Glenn Abbott(0-1) in relief.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning
and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.
