Jim Dwyer slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Chesapeake Bays bested the
Vancouver Canadians 7 to 1 at Memorial Stadium.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Dwyer.  He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 1st inning,
bombed a two-run dinger in the 6th inning and delivered a base-hit in the 8th
inning.  Chesapeake had 14 hits overall, while Vancouver had 5.  
Kevin Kobel(1-0) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Carl
Morton(0-2) was the loser.  He served up 5 gopher balls in 7 innings.
