Third baseman Sal Bando had 2 base hits as the Minnesota Xpress defeated the
Texas Rangers 6 to 1 at Xpress Stadium.
Texas found themselves trailing quickly as the Minnesota bats came through in
the first inning scoring one runner. After an out was recorded, Roy White
laced a single. Rod Carew followed next and he drew a walk. Andy
Messersmith then unleashed a wild pitch. Greg Luzinski followed and he would
ground out. Minnesota had a total of 8 hits for the game.
The win went to Rick Reuschel(2-1) who allowed 1 run in 8 and 2/3 innings.
