At Xpress Stadium the Texas Rangers outdistanced the Minnesota Xpress by a
final score of 8 to 4.
Minnesota was unable to claim the lead after Texas went ahead in the top of
the 6th inning scoring one runner. After an out was recorded, Don Baylor was
hit by a pitch. Dave Cash followed and he doubled. After another out, Ollie
Brown was walked intentionally. Texas totaled 10 hits on the night.
Mike Garman(1-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Garman
got help from Tom Hilgendorf who earned his 1st save. Alan Foster(0-1) was
given the loss in relief.
