The Manchester Minutemen got by the Houston Astros at The Astrodome. The
final score was 5 to 3.
Houston found themselves trailing quickly as the Manchester bats came through
in the first inning when they scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The early run support
proved sufficient for Bob Forsch(1-0) and Manchester. That was all the run
support Forsch required. Houston went down quietly in the bottom of the 9th.
Al Downing preserved the game for Forsch, recording his his 1st save. Steve
Rogers(0-1) ended up with the loss. He pitched 7 innings giving up 8 hits
and 4 walks.
'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Forsch said,
'this was one of those times.'
