TEAM RISP- Golden Seals: 2 for 10 Indians: 3 for 13
The San Francisco Golden Seals and the Cleveland Indians locked up in an
exciting one-run game at Municipal Stadium. The final score was the San
Francisco Golden Seals 4, the Cleveland Indians 3 in 10 innings.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. San Francisco won the
hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Bobby Grich drew a walk. Lyman
Bostock followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Jim Wynn then reached on
an error. After another out, Don Money came to the plate and singled scoring
the run. San Francisco totaled 8 hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Fred Holdsworth(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Holdsworth got help from John Hiller who was credited with his 1st
save. Tommy Boggs(0-1) was given the loss in relief. It was a tough loss
for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
