TEAM RISP- Kings: 6 for 14 Rangers: 4 for 11
Left fielder Ben Oglivie had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Queens Kings beat
the Texas Rangers by a score of 9 to 8.
The game was won by Queens with a run in the top of the 8th inning. After an
out was recorded, Craig Reynolds hit a single. Merv Rettenmund stepped up
next and he smacked a single. Larry Parrish got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Jose Cruz came up and he laced a single
to load the bases. Bob Welch then let one get away for a wild pitch scoring
the run. Both teams finished the game with 12 hits.
The victory went to Scott McGregor(2-0) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1
run. McGregor was helped out by John Candelaria who recorded his 2nd save.
Doc Medich(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 hit and no
walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
