TEAM RISP- Rangers: 6 for 24 Kings: 4 for 12
Designated hitter Bruce Bochte had 5 hits and 6 RBI as the Texas Rangers
defeated the Queens Kings by a score of 13 to 8 at The King's Palace.
Bochte provided much of the offense. He stroked a one-base hit which scored a
run in the 1st inning, doubled bringing in a run in the 3rd inning, stroked a
single which was good for two runs in the 4th inning, lifted one out of the
park for a two run home run in the 6th inning and doubled in the 8th inning.
Even though they scored in 5 different innings, Queens was not able to pull
off the win.
Bruce Kison(1-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. The losing pitcher was Nolan Ryan(1-2). He was hit hard and gave up
6 hits and 4 walks in 2 innings.
Bochte was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I want
to see how that game looks on paper.'
