TEAM RISP- Fire: 2 for 13 Minutemen: 2 for 12
Third baseman Wayne Gross rocketed 2 homeruns as the Chicago Fire topped the
Manchester Minutemen by a score of 6 to 2 at Manchester Park.
The Manchester fans didn't appreciate the big day Gross had. He lined a
base-hit in the 1st inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 3rd inning
and cracked a solo homerun in the 7th inning. Chicago had 15 hits for the
game and Manchester had 7.
Pete Vuckovich(1-0) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory.
Bob Forsch ended up with the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 6 innings.
