TEAM RISP- Red Barons: 4 for 7 Kings: 3 for 10
Shortstop Roy Smalley smacked 2 homeruns at The King's Palace as the Seattle
Red Barons beat the Queens Kings 8 to 6.
Smalley was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He singled in the 1st inning, smashed
a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 4th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the
5th inning. Jim Kern was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 1st save.
Jack O'Connor(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 innings. Nolan Ryan
took the loss. He allowed Seattle 8 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings of work.
