Al Oliver came next and he stroked a one-base hit. Ben Oglivie then would ground out resulting in a run. Carlton Fisk followed next and he ripped a single plating one more runner. Fisk took second on the throw. Larry Biittner stepped into the box and stroked a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Queens had 13 hits for the game and Seattle had 6. Joey McLaughlin(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. McLaughlin got help from Goose Gossage who was credited with his 2nd save. Sammy Stewart(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
