Left fielder Ruppert Jones blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI at Arlington
Stadium where the Seattle Red Barons beat the Texas Rangers 5 to 1.
Seattle came up with 2 runs in the 5th inning.  The biggest moment was
provided by Jones who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he
popped a two-run clout over the fence.  Seattle out-hit Texas for the game,
13 hits to 10.  
Jim Palmer(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Bob Welch(0-1) was charged with the loss.  He pitched 6 and
1/3 innings giving up 10 hits and no walks.
