Second baseman Willie Randolph had 3 base hits at Shea Stadium as the Seattle
Red Barons beat the Tempe Banditos by the count of 6 to 2.
Seattle came up with 3 runs in the 5th inning when they came up with 3 base
hits.  The highlight belonged to Roy Smalley who elicited a roar from the
hometown fans when he clubbed a two-run home run.  Seattle banged out 9 hits
on the afternoon.  
The victory was credited to Richard Dotson(1-0) who went 5 innings, allowing 2
runs. Dotson got relief help from Dave Gumpert who gained credit for his 1st
save.  Dan Petry(0-1) took the loss.  He saw his ERA jump from 1.80 to 3.97
as gave up 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.
