Alfredo Griffin slammed a homerun and had 5 RBI as the Tempe Banditos topped
the Great Lakes Whitecaps by a score of 7 to 4 at Tempe Stadium.
Griffin helped send the fans home happy.  He delivered a solo blast in the 3rd
inning, slapped a single resulting in a run in the 5th inning and doubled
plating three runs in the 7th inning.  Tempe totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.  
Mario Soto got the win allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Jesse Orosco preserved
the game for Soto, recording his his 1st save.  The losing pitcher was Vern
Ruhle in relief.  He was unable to retire a batter giving up 1 hit and 1 walk.
