Chet Lemon had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the San Francisco Golden Seals bested
the Seattle Red Barons 8 to 7 at Dimaggio Field.
San Francisco tallied 5 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 3 hits. The
key offensive moment was provided by Bobby Grich who electrified Dimaggio
Field when he laced a base-knock which was good for two runs. Seattle
threatened in the 9th but San Francisco was able to put down the rally.
The win went to Ted Power(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Power
got relief help from Guillermo Hernandez who gained credit for his 1st save.
Richard Dotson(0-2) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around by San
Francisco, allowing 5 hits and 4 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
'You have to give Seattle credit, they fought us tough to the end' Pete
DeStefano said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out
the victory.'
