The Baltimore Orioles nipped the Cleveland Buckeyes 3 to 2 at Municipal
Stadium in a hard fought contest.
Baltimore jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring a single
run. Cleveland had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The winning pitcher was Bert Blyleven who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings.
Doug Sisk preserved the game for Blyleven, recording his his 1st save. Jack
Morris was hit with the loss.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Jesse Elicker said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
