WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Dale Murphy robbed Tim Raines of a Homerun!
Third baseman Tim Flannery had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Municipal Stadium as
the Cleveland Buckeyes beat the Tempe Banditos 9 to 1.
Cleveland took the lead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring 2
runners on 1 hit. That scoring would be all that was needed. Cleveland
finished with 14 hits while Tempe ended up with 3.
The victory went to Jack Morris(1-0) who went 8 innings, allowing 1 run. Rick
Mahler(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 11 hits and 2 walks
in 4 and 2/3 innings.
