In a tight game it was the Tempe Banditos 5, the Manchester Minutemen 3 at
Manchester Park.
Tempe won the game with a rally in the 8th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 3
base hits.  Keith Moreland led off the inning for Tempe when he doubled.  Ron
Roenicke next to the plate and he laced a base-hit driving in a run.
Roenicke took second on a stolen base.  Tony Perez followed next and he
stroked a single scoring the final run of the inning.  Tempe finished with 8
hits in the victory.  
The win went to Mario Soto(1-0) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. Don Carman
earned the save, his 1st.  The losing pitcher was Kent Tekulve(0-1) in
relief.  He gave up 3 hits and no walks in 2 innings.
