Robby Thompson had 2 base hits at Chain of Lakes Park where the Cleveland
Buckeyes beat the Winter Haven Hamsters 3 to 2.
The game was won by Cleveland with a run in the top of the 9th inning.  Kirk
Gibson singled.  Mike Pagliarulo next to the plate and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt.  Dale Murphy then was walked intentionally.  Greg Walker was
up next and he drew a walk to load the bases.  Alan Trammell got his turn
next, but he was a strikeout victim.  Steve Bedrosian then threw a pitch that
got away from the catcher scoring the run.  Cleveland finished with 11 hits
while Winter Haven ended up with 6.  
Lance McCullers(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 and 2/3 innings
and allowing no runs. Ed Olwine preserved the game for McCullers, recording
his his 2nd save.  Ray Searage(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
