Kirk McCaskill had a complete game as the Great Lakes Whitecaps beat the
Cleveland Buckeyes by a score of 6 to 2.
Great Lakes promptly took the lead in their half of the first with 3 runs on 2
base hits. Tim Raines led off and keyed the rally when he laced a single.
Alfredo Griffin stepped into the batter's box and he reached on an error.
Wade Boggs then slapped a base-hit scoring a single run. After an out was
recorded, Ruben Sierra stepped in and he reached on an error plating another
run. Scott Bradley came to the plate and would ground out scoring the final
run of the inning. That early scoring was all that McCaskill(1-0) needed.
Great Lakes rapped out 9 hits for the night.
Jack Morris(1-2) took the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings.
