Jim Deshaies had an impressive outing as the Great Lakes Whitecaps defeated
the Cleveland Buckeyes by a score of 7 to 2 at The Shipyard.
Great Lakes jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating one
baserunner using 3 hits.  Overall Great Lakes out-hit Cleveland 12 to 4.
Deshaies(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Mark
Huismann got the save, his 1st.  Bill Gullickson(0-1) took the loss.  He gave
up 5 runs and 11 hits in 6 innings.
