At Chain of Lakes Park, the Winter Haven faithful were treated to an
intriguing pitcher's duel. Richard Dotson(1-1) finally bested his Winter
Haven counterpart, Rick Reuschel(1-1), by the score of 3 to 1.
Winter Haven surrendered all of the runs Seattle needed in the 5th inning when
they scored 3 runs on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Carney
Lansford who silenced the crowd when he belted a three-run homer. Dave
Righetti earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 1st save.
Reuschel was the losing pitcher. It was a tough loss for him as he did not
allow an earned run in his 8 innings of work.
