In a good matchup it was the Great Lakes Whitecaps 5, the Cleveland Buckeyes 3
in 11 innings at Municipal Stadium.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  Finally, Great Lakes prevailed
in the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Harold Reynolds opened up the
rally as he doubled.  Bill Schroeder next to the plate and he bombed a
two-run dinger.  Great Lakes had 9 hits for the night.  
The victory went to Jeff Heathcock(1-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Jesse Orosco earned his 1st save.  Mike Henneman took the loss in relief.
