In a one-sided affiar at Fenway Park the final score was the Montreal Expos 9,
the Portland Beavers 2.
Montreal promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating 2 runs
utilizing 4 base hits.  Mookie Wilson kicked off the action when he doubled,
and an error was also committed.  Johnny Ray was next and he doubled scoring
a run.  Claudell Washington then laced a single.  Jose Canseco followed next
and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning.  Montreal
out-hit Portland for the game, 12 hits to 7.  
Greg Maddux(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Charlie Hough(1-2) was the loser.  He was unable to control
the Montreal offense and allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
