Clay Dalrymple touched them all and had 4 RBI at Sportsman's Park where the Idaho Spuds beat the dreadful Columbus Redbirds in 11 innings by the score of 14 to 12.
The score was tied at 11 after nine. Idaho won it in the 11th inning. Frank Robinson led off the inning for Idaho when he banged out a single. Robinson got a great jump and stole second easily. After an out was recorded, Dalrymple stepped in and he slapped a base-hit plating a run. Gordy Coleman was up next and he stroked a single. Coleman took second on the throw. After another out, Bert Campaneris came up and he lined a single adding another two runs to their total. Both teams finished the game with 19 hits.
The winning pitcher was Dick Hall(8-1) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Ted Bowsfield(0-8) was the losing pitcher in relief. Third baseman Bob Bailey ripped 3 homeruns but his offense was not enough to carry Columbus to victory.
