Sioux Falls jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Jim Wynn kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Dave Roberts dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Dave Parker then laced a one-base hit. Thurman Munson followed, but he was set down on strikes. Larry Hisle stepped into the box and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Von Joshua added to the outburst and slapped a base-hit knocking home two runners. Baltimore was out-hit by Sioux Falls, 12 hits to 8.
