Ron Cey connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI as the Baltimore Terrapins rallied impressively to win in dramatic style over River City Rascals, 4 to 3.
Baltimore scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Andy Thornton led off and keyed the rally when he lined a base-hit. Greg Luzinski followed and he banged out a single. Pete Mackanin then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Cey came up and he doubled giving Baltimore the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Both teams finished the game with 6 hits.
Bob Apodaca(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Andy Messersmith(0-1) absorbed the loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 5 hits and 3 walks.
