The Durham Bulls offense put up 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 6th inning and
nipped the River City Rascals 5 to 4 at Fenway Park in a hard fought contest.
Durham had 4 runs cross the plate in the 6th inning when they had 3 base hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Dwight Evans who silenced the
stadium when he doubled plating two runs. River City had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.
The victory was credited to Jim Lonborg(2-1) who went 5 innings, allowing 1
run. Mickey Lolich(0-2) took the loss. It was another victory for Durham at
Fenway Park. Now their winning streak stands at 6 games. 'We're running on
all cylinders now', said Jeff Smith. 'I probably shouldn't change a thing
and let the guys continue to put up the wins.'
