Manny Trillo had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Philadelphia Warriors beat the
California Angels by a score of 5 to 4.
Philadelphia jumped on top to stay in the 7th inning plating an isolated run
on 2 hits. California threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Dave Campbell(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Campbell got help from Skip Lockwood who earned his 1st save. The loss was
charged to Frank Tanana(0-1).
'We won because we did the little things right.' Pete DeStefano said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
