The Homestead Grays pitchers essentially took the day off at Veterans Stadium
as the Reading Pretzles offense erupted for 8 runs while Dennis Lamp(1-0),
with relief help from Mike Marshall, throttled Homestead.
Lamp delivered a fine performance for Reading. He allowed 4 hits and 5 walks
in 7 and 2/3 innings. Reading out-hit Homestead for the game, 10 hits to 5.
Scott McGregor(0-1) was the loser. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 7
