Philadelphia Warriors broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a
2 to 1 win over the St Louis Browns and sending their hometown fans home smiling.
The deciding run was scored by Philadelphia in the 9th.  Keith Hernandez
delivered a one-base hit.  Gorman Thomas next to the plate and he drew a
walk.  Dell Alston then laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Manny Trillo stepped in
and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Bob Boone stepped into
the box and laced a single giving Philadelphia the win and sending the home
town fans into a frenzy.  Philadelphia had 7 hits for the game and St Louis
had 3.  
Andy Rincon(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Joe Sambito(0-1)
was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 1 hit in 1 inning.
