Ken Griffey Jr went yard at Osage Park as the Texas Rangers beat the San
Francisco Golden Seals by the count of 4 to 3.
Texas won the game with a run in the 9th inning. Luis Salazar banged out a
single. Craig Biggio followed next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. One
out later, Mike Gallego then ripped a single scoring the run. Gallego took
second on the throw. Texas had 9 hits overall, while San Francisco had 6.
Steve Crawford(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Jeff Pico(0-1) was the loser in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning
