In a good matchup it was the Spokane Web Gems 4, the San Francisco Golden
Seals 2 at Gold Glove Field.
San Francisco was unable to climb back into it after Spokane went ahead for
good in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring one runner using 2 hits. After
an out was recorded, Ozzie Smith tripled. Ryne Sandberg came next and he
laced a base-hit scoring the run. That early scoring held up. San Francisco
was set down quietly in the 9th.
