First baseman George Brett slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the San
Francisco Golden Seals bested the Spokane Web Gems 5 to 2 at Osage Park.
San Francisco promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they
scored 3 runs on 2 hits. That was all the runs Rick Mahler(1-0) needed.
Doug Jones was perfect in relief and got the save, his 1st.
Kevin Gross(0-1) ended up with the loss. He couldn't find the strike zone and
allowed 7 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
