Left fielder Danny Heep had 4 hits as the Albuquerque Dukes defeated the San
Francisco Golden Seals in 14 innings 6 to 5 at Chase Field.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Albuquerque won the game in
the 14th inning. After an out was recorded, Brett Butler banged out a
single. Rick Cerone stepped up to the plate and he slapped a base-hit. One
out later, Heep then stroked a single giving Albuquerque the victory as
45,236 happy fans celebrated wildly. Albuquerque ended up with 15 hits for
the game while San Francisco had 8.
Bill Landrum(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Jeff
Pico was the loser in relief. He allowed 4 hits and no walks in 2 innings.
