At Chase Field the Albuquerque Dukes outscored the Baltimore Orioles 7 to 4.

The Albuquerque fans enjoyed the offense provided by Don Mattingly.  He
doubled which scored a run in the 1st inning and rifled a three-run blast in
the 5th inning.  Albuquerque out-hit Baltimore for the game, 13 hits to 7.

The win went to Greg Hibbard(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Rick Aguilera recorded the save, his 1st.  The loss was charged to Bert
Blyleven(1-1).  He gave up 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.
